Your donation will help us keep the event free and accessible to the public and keep the vendor's booth fees low. We would love to be able to start reimbursing our vendors for parking, food, and hire help to give our vendors much needed restroom and food breaks throughout the two day market.

The Big Ole Queer Market's first show was in June of 2023 and to date is the largest market of queer vendors Texas has ever seen. Big Ole Queer Market is just what it sounds like. A huge market featuring LGBTQIA+ owned small businesses and artists. This event is free to the public and all are welcome. *ASL Interpreted Video link HERE
The LGBTQIA+ community is constantly faced with the task of fighting for our rights to exist and lead happy, healthy lives. Unfortunately, most queer owned businesses and artists struggle for affordable opportunities to showcase our work and connect with shoppers who truly understand the importance of supporting their local community. The "official" Pride celebrations that most major cities put on, charge artists and vendors $675 (sometimes more) just to have a small booth for a few hours. It's almost always at an event that sells tickets to the public (lowering the attendance of shoppers) and almost always outdoors in the hottest time of the year. It's very clear the small business community is being taken advantage of in these situations.
Gratien (of Ella's Apothecary) began The Big Ole Queer Market in 2022 with a dream and a mission. This is an event organized by a small queer owned business, with small queer owned businesses in mind. We want big, accessible, free to the public, indoors with AC, inclusive, and affordable, and now we have it twice a year in Austin (expanding to other major cities soon). Vendors are put first in all decisions and the goal is to make bigger and better opportunities for our community.
Thank you for your support! We will see you there!
